Born in Finland, a place where respect for the environment,
community, and technology is ingrained in every aspect of society,
I've carried these values with me to Manatee County.
My career in IT and cybersecurity wasn't just about
advancing technology but also about ensuring it
served the greater good. When I look at Manatee
County, with its unique beauty and potential, I see
challenges—traffic congestion, water quality issues,
and threats to our cybersecurity—that I know could be
addressed with the right combination of innovation,
community involvement, and forward-thinking
leadership.
The situation at Piney Point, the groundwater
contamination in Tallavast, and the increasing
vulnerabilities in our utility departments' cybersecurity
highlights a clear need for change. These aren’t just
abstract issues to me; they are urgent calls to action. I
see the potential for smart technology to mitigate our
traffic issues, inspired by success stories like
Singapore's.
I know that updating our water quality standards
and improving our digital infrastructure could protect
our community and environment for the long term.
My decision to run for Manatee County Commission
District 7 At-large is driven by a desire to see our
community thrive through sustainable growth,
technological advancement, and inclusivity. It isn’t
about a career in politics; it is about applying my
background and values to serve the community I've
come to love.
I'm running to bring a fresh perspective to the
commission, one that prioritizes long-term
environmental health, leverages technology for public
good, and ensures our community's voice is heard
loud and clear in every decision we make. Join me in
envisioning a future for Manatee County where we not
only address our current challenges but also lay the
groundwork for a thriving, sustainable, and connected
community.
